Looking for Shadowing or Observation Hours?
We often receive inquiries from students looking for clinical observation or passive shadowing. Because our clinic focuses on active, child-led engagement and values family privacy, we do not offer passive shadowing or observation opportunities.
Please review the differences below to see if our volunteer program matches your goals:
Clinical Observation (Shadowing): A passive experience where a student sits and observes a therapist working with a child. We do not offer this at our clinic.
Volunteering: An active, hands-on role where you assist our team in setup, cleanup, and directly support our individual therapy sessions and group programs under the guidance of our occupational and speech therapists.
Volunteering at the Clinic
Our volunteers are an essential part of our clinic family. You will help maintain our sensory gym spaces, prepare materials, and interact directly with children in our individual sessions and group programs.
What We Look For:
Commitment: Consistency is incredibly important to the children we serve. We require a minimum commitment of 50 hours total, with fixed regular weekly shifts.
Age Requirement: All volunteers must be 18 years of age or older.
Active Participation: Willingness to jump in, help organize, keep spaces safe, and participate in playful, child-centered activities.
Note on Recommendations: To maintain professional integrity and ensure we can provide an accurate reflection of your work, we require at least 100 hours of volunteering before we consider writing letters of recommendation or signing off on official proof of hours.
