Mindful MasterChefs

Executive Functioning, Mindfulness & Life Skills Through Cooking

Now enrolling for Fall 2026

Mindful MasterChefs uses cooking as a meaningful, hands-on way to build executive functioning and mindfulness. Students prepare simple recipes while practicing planning, organization, sequencing, time management, flexible thinking, and task completion, and reflect on their thoughts, energy, and responses along the way.

What Your Child Will Practice

Planning & Sequencing

Students break a recipe into steps: gathering ingredients, following directions in order, and managing time from start to finish.

Flexible Problem-Solving

Kitchens are unpredictable. Students adjust when ingredients, tools, or plans change and generate solutions before asking for help.

Mindful Self-Awareness

Mindfulness activities help students notice emotions, energy levels, and body signals, and use breathing, pausing, and reflection to stay focused.

Teamwork & Communication

Students share responsibilities, ask for clarification, and collaborate with peers to finish a shared cooking project.

Everyday Math & Literacy

Measuring, counting, estimating, working with fractions, and reading recipes build practical math and literacy skills.

Kitchen Life Skills

Students practice kitchen safety, cleanup routines, and independent-living skills that build everyday confidence.

About Mindful MasterChefs

Mindful MasterChefs is an executive functioning and mindfulness class that uses cooking as a real-world learning experience. Each session, students move a recipe from start to finish while practicing the planning, organization, and self-management skills they use every day.

Cooking offers a natural way to follow a process, manage materials, adjust when plans change, and reflect on learning. In a small group, students also build practical math, literacy, kitchen safety, teamwork, and independent-living skills at a comfortable pace.

Educational focus: Executive functioning, mindfulness, self-awareness, self-management, planning, organization, sequencing, time management, flexible thinking, problem-solving, math, literacy, teamwork, and independent-living skills.

Educational Enrichment Program Notice

Tumble ’N Dots Educational Enrichment Programs are supplemental group learning programs, separate from our clinical occupational therapy services. They do not include diagnosis, determination of medical necessity, individualized occupational therapy evaluation or plans of care, clinical treatment goals, healthcare progress notes, insurance billing, or superbills.
